About Coral
It wouldn't be an overstatement to call Coral a legendary sports bookie. The company was established in 1926 and has effectively acted on the bookmaking potential made possible by the Internet, following the formation of the Gala Coral Group in 1991.
Around the UK today, there are over 1,800 betting shops adorned with the now familiar Coral logo. The brand's online offerings integrate effectively with the bricks and mortar operations - an arrangement that begins to explain why Coral.co.uk is, ahem, a safe bet.
Promotions
We were impressed by what promotions were currently offered when we checked out Coral’s promotions, from the introductory offer to more obscure bonuses… make sure to check out all of the current offers when you visit their site.
One tip we will give is to read the terms and conditions for an offer carefully before you act to use it. We found that the welcome offer in particular came with various restrictions. For example, there were disconcerting limits on the types of bets that qualified for the offer.
Sports Betting Types and Betting Markets
Unsurprisingly for such a big-name bookie, Coral has made available a very broad choice of sports for eager bettors. 27 categories of sport are listed on Coral's website; some of the particularly mainstream options include:
Football
Boxing
Cycling
Golf
Horse racing
Motor Sports
Tennis
You only need to click the name of a sport in Coral's list to see a potentially amazingly broad selection of subcategories. For example, if you love betting on football, major leagues including the Premier League, the Bundesliga and Major League Soccer are covered.
Betting Coverage
The main navigation panel in the Coral site's header dedicates a button to in-play opportunities. Click ‘In-Play’ on that panel to see which fixtures are happening right now and that you can bet on before match time elapses. You may need to get especially creative with your betting here...
In deciding your bets, you can customise your digital bet slip, which can take account of both events currently unfolding and events yet to happen. Of course, you might find that actually watching a match - rather than just a text- and number-based live feed for it - elevates your betting ability. It's fortunate, then, that you can live stream sport on the website.
Both in-play betting and live streaming are also available on Coral's mobile app dedicated to the brand's sports betting and casino functions. Whether your mobile device is a smartphone or tablet and runs iOS or Android as its operating system, you can enjoy a highly-rated app.
Software and Graphics
OpenBet provides the software on which Coral's sports betting platform is based - and what a conveniently hiccup-free platform it is. It's unlikely to confuse you even if you don't have an abundance of online sports betting experience.
We particularly like the My Coral tab, on which you can save events that especially interest you for betting on later. As you put together a highly customised slate in this way, navigating the website to find the sports and other opportunities that most excite you can become even easier.
Indeed, the Coral site has impressive looks to go with its brains. The largely blue-and-white colour scheme fits in with what you are probably accustomed to seeing in Coral betting shops on the high street - and that brings us conveniently onto another subject...
Extra Value
One of our very favourite aspects of betting with Coral is the multichannel scheme known as Coral Connect. This is where you can have just one account and, with it, one cash balance that can be used either on the website or in Coral high street shops.
It all allows for a more varied and seamless betting experience, as you can easily switch between online betting and in-shop betting as and when you see fit. Coral Connect also enables its users to take out their winnings almost instantly when in Coral shops.
Loyalty or VIP Programme
On the Coral site's primary interface, clicking the ‘VIP’ tab at the far right-hand side of the page will bring up details of Coral's Priority Programme. This is available to users of various Coral services, including casino, slots and bingo, as well as sports betting.
Placing stakes on sports bets enables you to amass Priority Points. 1,500 of these will bring you to Bronze level, 2,500 to Silver standard and 12,500 to the Gold Tier. There is a further Platinum level, too; however, this is invite-only.
Other Offerings
Joining the VIP scheme can be especially worthwhile when you factor in the ability to collect Priority Points through the sampling of sections of the Coral website other than sports betting.
While sports betting can often seem like Coral.co.uk's bread and butter, you can further vary your gambling diet by playing the various games on offer, including casino and Vegas-style titles. You can even play bingo or lotto.

Customer Support
You might find that the most convenient means of contacting Coral's Customer Service team is using the site's internal messaging system. It is certainly the most readily available manner of making that contact, as you can start by clicking ‘View your messages’ on the main interface.
From there, you can proceed to select the ‘send message’ option. However, other, more orthodox contact methods are still available if you would favour instead using one of those. Coral advertises a ‘Live Chat’ facility, while you can also email via an online form.
There are also two telephone support numbers from which to choose: for customers in the UK or using a mobile phone, a freephone line, and a different number for customers outside the UK.
Who Can Play?

- United Kingdom
- Republic of Ireland
- Argentina
- Belarus
- Croatia
- Georgia

Bottom Line
Coral is already one of the UK's largest bookmakers. However, with regard to its online operations, the company certainly doesn't seem to be resting on its laurels. In fact, we recommend that you make a particular priority of checking out this sports betting portal.
