Top highlights: Slick betting interface; the reputability of the Virgin brand
VIP or loyalty programme: No
Other offerings: None
Virgin Bet was only launched in early June 2019, and it’s an immediately interesting sports betting portal for a number of reasons – not least because it bears the famous Virgin logo and colours. However, interestingly, the site is actually operated not directly by the Virgin Group
At the time of our visit to the site to write this review, Virgin Bet already served up a number of promotions, despite its relative youth. These included the following – which are, of course, liable to change over time, so you might see something different when you sign up yourself:
If the main reason you register with a sports betting portal is so that you can gamble across a variety of categories, competitions and leagues in one place, you should be more than satisfied by the offerings of Virgin Bet. The following are just a few of the sports that you can pick from here:
One of the most striking things about Virgin Bet at the time of us writing this review was that it was a mobile-only gambling portal, with those attempting to visit the site through a desktop browser instead being instructed to download the iOS or Android app. It’s also possible to access the site through your mobile device’s web browser, although for the full range of betting opportunities, it’s the app that visitors are urged to check out.
Virgin Bet also places a big emphasis on in-play betting, and you’ll be able to see ‘live’ events on which you can have a flutter when you navigate to the homepage.
Whether you access the site in app form or directly through a mobile web browser on your device, the various menus are nicely slick, intuitive and responsive. In short, this is a software that’s bang up to date in accordance with the needs and expectations of online sports bettors in 2019.
With lots of white space, rounded corners and tasteful splashes of Virgin’s vibrant red, there’s also no doubt that the graphical and software experience here is easy on the eye.
Referring to the latest statistics concerning a particular team’s performances and results is an obvious way to better inform yourself prior to placing a bet. However, you may have long hated the awkwardness of having to fire up a separate website to check such things whenever you fancy having a flutter on a particular match.
Well, that’s not an issue for Virgin Bet members gambling on football. In fact, the site enables you to easily check out the results of a given team’s previous five matches, in addition to the head-to-head history of the two teams who are about to face off against each other.
At the time of typing, Virgin Bet was squarely focused on sports betting, and didn’t serve up any ‘side games’ such as blackjack, roulette or slots titles, as are offered by some rivals.
The selection of accepted deposit methods at Virgin Bet wasn’t exactly the most generous one when we came to review the site. However, the site’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) pages did indicate that Apple Pay would also soon be offered alongside the options listed here.

You can take money out of your Virgin Bet account at any time, as long as you have enough funds, don’t have any bonus wagering requirements that still need to be fulfilled, and don’t have any outstanding verification requests. You must also only withdraw funds back to the last payment method you deposited with.
|Withdrawal Method||Fee||Processing Time||Limit Per Withdrawal|
|Visa||£0||1-4 working days||£10-£10,000|
|MasterCard||£0||1-4 working days||£10-£10,000|
|Fast Bank Transfer||£0||2-6 working days|
There are a lot of places where you can get help with your use of Virgin Bet, not least the site’s FAQs database, which provides answers to common queries relating to user accounts, responsible gambling, deposits, withdrawals, promotions and more.
It’s not exactly too hard, though, to get in touch with the Virgin Bet team directly, should you need to do so. Simply scroll down the homepage until you see the ‘Contact us’ link, and then tap on it to be presented with two options: a phone number to call or the site’s ‘live chat’ facility.
Finally, the site also has a Twitter account at @VirginBetHelp, which is active between 8am and midnight each day.
Unfortunately for those who may be interested in gambling on sport on the site from elsewhere, the Virgin Bet terms and conditions make clear that members must reside in the United Kingdom. They are also required to be 18 years of age or older, and to register in their own name.
Virgin Bet is licensed and regulated by the first of the below bodies for bettors in Great Britain, and the latter two from the perspective of Gibraltar-based members.
For such a young site, Virgin Bet is surprisingly sophisticated and packed with features and betting opportunities. The refined-looking and intuitive gambling software and the tasteful manner in which the Virgin branding and colours are incorporated into the site are especially impressive aspects, while the ability to summon up relevant statistics before betting on football matches here is another very nice touch.
Is there anything obviously wrong with Virgin Bet at this early stage of its development? Well, the list of promos and bonuses isn’t quite as long as we’d like to see it become, especially as far as longer-term betting is concerned.
Similarly, the accepted payment methods could do with being enhanced beyond the more obvious debit and credit cards and PayPal, and there wasn’t yet a loyalty or VIP scheme being offered on the site at the time of our review, either. Oh, and a desktop-ready version of the site would also surely help to expand its appeal and member base.
Still, on the basis of the site that we found, Virgin Bet is already a solid four-star offering – and we suspect it’ll only continue to get better in the months and years to come. Register now, and you’ll be able to quickly start appreciating a sports betting portal that has a serious amount of potential.
